Are you wondering what the core differences between TomTom AmiGo and TomTom GO are?
They seem very similar, but why do the two apps exist?
From my research, there is a limited variation between the two apps. The main difference is the sync with MyDrive, CarPlay compatibility, and monthly cost, which is available with TomTom GO.
Which Should you Pick: TomTom AmiGo vs TomTom GO
Although the name sounds similar, there are some stark differences between the apps.
The main differences are that one is paid, offers offline maps, and is compatible with CarPlay.
Read on to find out about TomTom AmiGo vs TomTom Go and which you should pick.
TomTom AmiGo
TomTom Amigo is a free app available from the app store and Google Pay store.
I believe it was meant to compete with the other free options out there, such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze.
Some top features include:
- Speed camera alerts
- Real-time Traffic Alerts
- Road Colsoere navuation
- Ad free
- Heavy privacy protection
But from my experience, the app is buggy and lacks features compared to other free options, and verses TomTom Go is a weaker option.
The fact that the app doesn’t work with CarPlay or allows offline navigation makes it less useful in today’s navigation world.

TomTom GO
TomTom Go is paid app that allows you to use the TomTom ecosystem to its fullest, all through your iPhone or Andriod device.
While the app is better than TomTom Amigo, there are better free versions like Google Maps, Waze, or Apple maps with similar, if not better, features in my option.
The pricing for the app is as follows:
- 1 month – $4.99
- 6 months – $15.99
- 12 months – $22.99
*You cancel or change your plan anytime.
Some top features of the app include:
- Offline map (Save your data and get directions even in remote locations)
- Simple and clear turn-by-turn directions
- Speed camera alerts
- Traffic and road closure routing
- Apple CarPlay compatible
- Share your ETA with your contacts

Conclusion
Overall my personal option is that TomTom Go is a much better app; however, it is a paid product.
I only recommend TomTom Go for people who want to use the TomTom ecosystem and are willing to pay for the privilege.
